Moby

February 1, 1996 by Mini Archives

By Gabe Hargrove Everything is wrong. Actually not quite everything, but Moby thinks so. One of the most talented composers, (Not just DJ) in the genre, he’s also the only one interested in the present day dilemma – animal testing, drugs, pollution and messed up people in general. Moby is an ex-rich hard-core punk from … [Read more…]

Adventures of Edgecapades

February 1, 1996 by Mini Archives

By Clint Fero and Molly Latterner It was the night of December sixth, when Molly, Andy, Chris, Shelly, Jeremy, and I went to Edgecapades. When we got there and sat down, Flip was the opening band. As we all cheered them on, they played their music. Then next was the Meat Puppets. They played a … [Read more…]

Movie Review: Seven

February 1, 1996 by Mini Archives

By Emily Matejeck and Lisa Kopecky We left the theatre feeling down, yet with introspect. Seven focuses on each of the seven sins and their supposedly just punishments. The first crime found the killer forcing an obese man to eat until his stomach burst. That represented Gluttony. With the second crime Greed, a high prestigious … [Read more…]

Mall Rats

November 1, 1995 by Mini Archives

Mall Rats By Tony Cruikshank This movie, filmed in the Eden Prairie mall, had very little to offer. Bad acting, very little plot, but the writing is what saved it. Two characters, Jay and Silent Bob, stole 100% of the show. In all, it’s a mediocre movie with some good exceptions.

Marilyn Manson – Smells Like Children

November 1, 1995 by Mini Archives

Marilyn Manson – Smells Like Children By Chris Utne This CD is just a bunch of killer remixes of Marilyn Mansons’ last album, “Portrait of an American Family” and some weird satanic intros that are all about one minute long. They also have really cool cover songs. One is “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” … [Read more…]

Phish

November 1, 1995 by Mini Archives

Phish By Andrea Hamilton Even before I walked in the doors of the Civic Center, I could feel the high energy level inside. It was the night of October 25th, and I had been excited all day. Today was my first Phish show. My friend Rob and I found our seats, then as we kicked … [Read more…]

November 1, 1995 by Mini Archives

Pass the Binoculars and the Kleenex! By Emily Matejcek We look over and there he is…it’s Rachael Guffan’s dad. He peers up, we try to hide, he spots us, he smiles, he waves. He had been following us since the hotdog stand. Being the expected baby boomer he was faithfully there bonding with the many … [Read more…]

Rush / Primus Reviews

March 1, 1994 by Mini Archives

By Jenny Case and Lola Ulvog Respectively In my opinion Neil Peart, Alex Lifeson, and Geddy Lee are gods. Luminaries. Men of wax. In fact, I bet they can all walk on water and turn their blood into wine. They are so cool. If they died they would probably rise from the dead and push … [Read more…]
