In case you didn’t know it’s that time of year again, but you wouldn’t know cause you don’t have a calendar to remind you. That’s right, the calendar drive, and its participants are very determined Mini-School students. Why? Because the sales profit goes to funding adventurous, yet educational Mini-School trips.
The $4.00 profit (per calendar sold) goes to funding for Mini-School’s educational trips (i.e. Montana Canoe Trip, Mark Warren Trip, Rum River Trip, and many more.) The money is invested into the trips in order to lower the cost to a minimum for student participants. From what I’ve seen in my first year in Mini- School it makes an incredible difference in price for students who might not be able to afford the
recreational journeys.
The calendars come in two different variances: the desk or wall calendar. The desk (or engagement) calendar comes with an easy to interpret weather guide, daily engagement planner, and information about wildlife and vegetation. But let’s not forget all of the cute, fuzzy, cuddly, adorable, little animal pictures inside as well. The wall calendar comes with a bit more information on weather including: sunrise, sunset, average temperature, past records, astronomic information, and pages of useful and intellectual graphs and charts. Still with many pictures of animals, scenery, and vegetation. And for all those people who love to garden, there is a monthly “Gardening Tips” by Rebecca Kolls of the WCCO weather center.
The cost is $13 each. The months that are covered are January ‘98 to December ‘98. They are a great investment and one of the best calendars I have ever seen.
