We the unwilling, led by the unqualified, have been doing the unbelievable for so long, with so little, we now attempt the impossible with nothing. - Mini-School Credo

Foghat Concert

December 1, 1976 by Mini Archives

On Saturday, November 27th, Foghat came to the St. Paul Civic Center with the Kate Brothers and the James Gang. I didn’t really hear the Kate Brothers because we got there late. The James Gang weren’t that good but Foghat was great. They played a lot of their best songs.

And more on Foghat…

The Foghat concert was very good. They played about 8 songs. They started with “Fool for the City” the title of their last album. Foghat has four members in their band, a lead guitar, a rhythm guitar, a bass guitar, and a drummer. Rod Price, the lead guitarist, displayed some of the best slide guitar I’ve ever seen. Roger Earl, the drummer, played with two bass drums which sounded excellent. Dave Peuerett, rhythm guitar and lead singer also played with excellence. Foghat played for about 1 1/2 hours. They played very loud and fast. Their two encores were Maybelline which is written by Chuck Berry – that was my favorite of all. The other encore was Chateau Laffite 59 Boogie which is a song about drinking. That really got the crowd going. Foghat will go somewhere the way they are going now. The only thing they need is a little more variety in their music. And they will be one of the top bands from England. I’ve seen them 3 times and if they come again I’ll be there.
